Miriam Manubens

«Pianist with sensitivity, skill as an accompanist, and excellent technique» Miquel Vigo, «Diari d’Andorra»
Since being selected by the orchestra «Joventuts Musicals de Catalunya» at the age of 18, with whom she performed Mozart’s Concerto No. 21 at the Auditorium of Ordino (Principality of Andorra), Miriam Manubens has developed her career as a soloist and chamber pianist, sharing the stage with musicians such as Josep Carreras and Belgian saxophonist Alain Crépin, among others.
She has performed in various locations, including Madrid, Barcelona, Menorca, Toulouse, Paris, Strasbourg, Ljubljana, Brussels, and Lisbon, as well as at the Foyer of the Liceu Theatre in Barcelona, the «Montserrat Caballé» International Singing Competition, the Andorra Sax Fest International Competition, and the «Narciso Yepes» Festival.
Deeply committed to social and humanitarian causes, she has given benefit concerts for Caritas Andorrana and Assandca (Andorran Association for the Fight against Cancer).
With an interest in other musical genres, she has co-directed the musical «Company» by Stephen Sondheim and the musical «Blood Brothers» by Willy Russell, alongside Catalan actor Roger Pera, in collaboration with Joan Anton Rechi.
Her interest in music began at the age of 6 when she encountered a piano at a friend’s house. She completed her professional degree in Andorra and her advanced degree at the Municipal Conservatory of Barcelona under the guidance of Catalan pianist Miquel Farré. She then received a scholarship from the Crèdit Andorrà Foundation to study two postgraduate programs in performance at Trinity College in London.
In 2022, she pursued a Master’s degree in performance at the Katarina Gurska Higher Center.
Since 2003, she has been working at the «Institut de Música del Comú de Andorra la Vella» as a piano teacher and accompanist. Currently, she is the head of the piano department, having previously served as the head of studies from 2011 to 2016.
