Born in Valencia in 1957, he began his musical studies at the age of eight and later trained at the Instituto Musical Giner, the El Micalet Choral Society and the Joaquín Rodrigo Superior Conservatory of Music in Valencia, where he obtained degrees in Composition, Musicology, Music Pedagogy, Music Theory and Piano. He also studied orchestral conducting with Manuel Galduf and Mathematics at the University of Valencia.

He furthered his training in national and international courses and institutions including Música en Compostela, the Granada International Festival, the University of Southern California and IRCAM in Paris, studying with figures such as Luis de Pablo, Tristán Murail, Philippe Manoury and Leo Brouwer.

His catalogue covers a wide range of genres and has been performed in numerous festivals and international events in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Russia. He received the Valencia Composition Prize in 1987 and has been commissioned by institutions such as the Alicante International Contemporary Music Festival, ENSEMS, the Centre for the Diffusion of Contemporary Music, the Valencian Government, the Valencian Institute of Music, the Valencia Orchestra and the International Festival of Morelia, as well as by many ensembles, soloists and contemporary music groups.

He has taught and directed music institutions including the San Rafael Conservatory in Buñol, and has taught at the Conservatory of Torrent and the Joaquín Rodrigo Superior Conservatory in Valencia. He has also served as jury member in several music competitions, artistic director of the Grup Contemporani de Valencia, and board member of the Valencian Association of Contemporary Music.

His music has been recorded on ten compact discs. The label GADIRaifa released a monographic CD dedicated to part of his chamber music, and his works have been published by Piles, Rivera Editores and the Valencian Institute of Music.
